Nimishillen Township Board of Trustees

On Thursday, January 12, 2006, the Board of Trustees of Nimishillen Township met in Special Session at 6:00 P.M. at the Nimishillen Township Hall for the purpose of organization and to transact any necessary business that may lawfully be conducted at this annual organizational meeting.  Roll call was taken and the following members were present:  Trustees Todd D. Bosley, Michael L. Lynch, Lisa R. Shafer and Fiscal Officer Carlene Harmon.

 

Todd Bosley opened the meeting and asked for nominations for President of the Board of Trustees.  Mike Lynch motioned to nominate Todd Bosley as President, seconded by Lisa Shafer.  With no further nominations, Todd Bosley was elected President of the Board of Trustees of Nimishillen Township.  Motion carried.

 

Todd Bosley asked for nominations for Vice President of the Board of Trustees.  Mike Lynch motioned to nominate Lisa Shafer as Vice President, seconded by Todd Bosley.  With no further nominations, Lisa Shafer was elected Vice President of the Board of Trustees of Nimishillen Township.  Motion carried.

 

The following were appointed to the various committees:

 

  • Stark Council of Government: Mike Lynch motioned to nominate Todd Bosley to serve as representative, seconded by Lisa Shafer.  All voted yes.  Motion carried.

 

  • Ohio Public Works Commission Project Manager: Todd Bosley motioned to nominate Mike Lynch to serve as the representative, seconded by Lisa Shafer.  All voted yes.  Motion carried.

 

  • Community Development Block Grant: Todd Bosley motioned to nominate Lisa Shafer as representative, seconded by Mike Lynch.  All voted yes.  Motion carried.

 

  • Stark County Regional Planning Commission: Todd Bosley motioned to nominate Mike Lynch and himself as representatives and Zoning Inspector Keith Lasure as alternate, seconded by Lisa Shafer.  All voted yes.  Motion carried.

 

  • Tax Incentive Review Council: Todd Bosley motioned to nominate Lisa Shafer and himself, seconded by Mike Lynch.  All voted yes.  Motion carried.

 

Annual RPC dinner: Todd Bosley stated this is a good dinner and wanted to encourage everyone to attend but those attending would pay for their own meal; therefore, Todd Bosley motioned that the township will not pay for the RPC dinner, seconded by Mike Lynch.  All voted yes.  Motion carried.

 

Trustees Meetings: Todd Bosley motioned to hold the Trustees’ Meetings the second and fourth Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m., seconded by Lisa Shafer.  All voted yes.  Motion carried.

 

Retain all appointed, hourly and salaried personnel: Lisa Shafer motioned to postpone retaining employees until after the Executive Session at the regular Trustees’ Meeting, seconded by Mike Lynch.  All voted yes.  Motion carried.

 

Host the Ohio Township Association Meeting in June: Todd Bosley motioned to host the Ohio Township Association Meeting in June, 2006, at Fire Station #3 at the expense of the three

Trustees, seconded by Mike Lynch.  All voted yes.  Motion carried.  Mr. Bosley said he would find a speaker.

 

Resolution to Transfer Funds for 2006: Todd Bosley motioned to allow the Fiscal Officer to transfer funds for the 2006 year, seconded by Lisa Shafer.  All voted yes.  Motion carried.

 

Winter Conferences: Fiscal Officer Carlene Harmon said she will be attending a local conference in Akron and will not be going to Columbus.

 

Adjournment: With no further business to discuss, Todd Bosley motioned to adjourn, seconded by Lisa Shafer.  All voted yes.  Motion carried.

 

The meeting adjourned at 6:15 p.m.
